I am a new member of FerrariChat. I have enjoyed reading your comments and have learned a great deal.
I am ready to consider purchasing my first Ferrari. It is the 1999 F1 GTS currently being offered on EBay and in the FerrariChats FerrariAds. The current asking price is $101,000. It is silver exterior, blue interior. It has 13,000 miles a had the 15,000 mile service and new clutch at 10,000 miles. I inspected the car and it appears to be in very good condition with the exception of minor driver bolster wear and passenger dash airbag shrinkage. I believe that both of these items are easily repaired. The seller is Michael Lederman.
My questions are: Does this car represent a good value? What concerns should I have? Does anyone know this specific car? Any helpful thoughts or comments would be appreciated.
I appreciate your imput and look forward to your response. Thanks!

Micheal Leaderman has a very good reputation as a Ferrari dealer. He used to be associated with the AutoGallery in Thousand Oaks,Ca.Very Knowledgeable on all things Ferrari.Prices seems alittle high. One thought;GTS models are more rare than GTB and Spiders. It might be a consingnment car and the owner is looking for top money.

    Good Luck

A 15k service generally translates to mean the timing belts are not done. Since the car is a 99 they are due and are very expensive to replace. I would want documentation that they have been done or I would deduct replacement price off the top.

The 30k service will cost ya about $5k with the potential to go upto $12k. Get the PPI done, make sure the leak-down is clean. The price sounds very fair for a '99 F1

Make sure you love it, cause that color combo is dingin'

How much does a clutch replacement run in a 355? Looks like you might be needing a new clutch in a few thousand miles...

I believe that dingin means that the color combo will "ding" its future retail value. It is not the most popular color combo. For example, a red with tan car will likely find a larger future audience than a silver and blue car.

Keep the comments coming. I appreciate everyones advise. Also, the car had a new clutch at 10,000 miles and has not had the major belt service. Thanks, Tim
