    Please help,

I recently tried to have my 1979 308GTB Wheels restored by someone highly recommended on this site, only to have then ruined.

They literally sanded down the Ferrari / Cromodora / 7 ¼” lettering rendering them unattractive after finishing.

I’ll deal with them, as I do believe that they’ll attempt to make restitution.

I’d like to try to find 5 used ones (I’m sure new, isn’t even possible) that are either in restored condition or in restorable condition.

Since I live in California, I’d like to try to find a set local (depending on condition, of course).

Please, any direction would be most helpful.

    Thank you,

    Chris.

    Dude that totally blows.........

14" shouldn't be too hard to find though.....I did a deal on some last week...Campagnolos though....

Amazed they'd do anything other than media blasting.....what where they thinking?? Any chance someone like WheelsAmerica can save them?

Contact the usual suspects...GT Car Parts, TRutlands.

Make lemonade from lemons and replace them with 16" QVs.......

That's what I was thinking! Unless you want 14" wheels for concourse.

    Hey Guys,

    I apprecaite the sympathy, thanks.

It's unfortunate that I've spent way over the amount of money on project.

I'm trying to keep the car as origional as I can, without going BK, ha-ha.

Trying to keep a sense of humor..........I would like to find a decent set..

Has anyone good experiences in "blasting a respraying thier mag wheels?

    Thanks,

    chris.

Snag those 4 in the post above...I'll keep an eye for one more......

These wheels should be delicately scuffed and refinished....going all the way thru the OEM sealers and primers is ASKING for trouble, IMO....

There's a lot of beautiful wheels out there that don't hold air anymore.......check out some of Napolis' pics for the special process involved with true alloy castings...most shops now think they are modern materials.....

Did you use this paint kit from Griots?
    http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=20229
I used it and found the paint color had a little too much silver metallic flake for proper Dino wheels.

Griot's is pretty close...I thought someone posted the actual codes on here for it.....

The OEM 16" are just expensive and hard to find Douglas, did you ask if they had a salvage 16" 'space saver"??? Those are not in high demand.....
