Greetings You are invited to attend the next DFWFine Dining event on August 27th at Roy's Restaurant in Plano (on the Tollway between Park and Parker). They serve a variety of seafood and steaks. Their website link is: www.roysrestaurant.com. if you haven't been. I have been several times and it's been great - I've also received positive feedback from more than a few other f-chatters with rave reviews. Because our headcount has grown, we need to book a group reservation which requires a minimum $ commitment for our party based upon headcount (this is not just at Roy's - I also called several other restaurants). I don't think this is an issue for us given how much we typically spend at these, but want to make sure everyone is aware when they are commiting to their RSVP. For a party of 30 (we exceeded that number last time), we would have to commit to a $3000 minimum, or approx $100 per head. Reserved parking goes without say. I need to get a preliminary headcount over the next few days so please reply if you think would like to attend. Thanks and hope to see you there!!!
How much is it for a party of 20? You can always limit the number of attendees, we've done it before. I'm should be able to make it, but won't know for another week or so. Put me down for a tentative 2.
O.k. I'm limiting the number to 30. Any complaints go to Jim. I figure if Nick shows up, he alone will cover off 20% of the minimum no problem with their wine selection.
Im in. Its one of my favorite restaurants. They have a great prix fixe for $33 if you're on a budget, but its easy to spend $100, which I usually do.
All righty. Ix-nay the original message I sent. I spoke with the restaurant again and here's the new deal: Click on the website and go to Private Dining. Click on the PLUMERIA menu. That is the menu we will be offering for Fine Dining. The price is $49 plus tax/gratuity. In exchange for not requiring a menu, we ALL must order off the Plumeria menu. You will not be able to order the Prix Fix special. If you have a special dietary need that is not on the Plumeria menu, please let me know and I will make arrangements with the restaurant. The seating limit will remain at 30. I've reserved 15 parking spaces. Count so far: Jim E. (2) Frances (2) Jimmy V (2) Robert C (1)
Last one was very successful, largest turnout ever. However, from experience we've had some FD's where 25-30 would RSVP and we would barely have 20 show up. Count on several last minute cancellations, so a waiting list is good. I also find it hard to believe 30 people would average $100, but maybe. I was almost stuck with a huge bill in Indianapolis with just a $30 minimum because so many didn't even eat. Luckily we had a 2nd group of "Texans" down stairs and they grouped them with us. Thanks Knights and Roses for the save! Please put Jennie and I down for two.
Is this event limited to Old School members / F-car owners only? Since I am " new " I didn't want to just jump in and take 2 spots without asking... < shrug > S
This is a FCA event, not a FerrariChat.com event. Although this is one of the events that doesn't require a membership. Several FCA members don't own a Ferrari right now.
My bad...my typo. It is $59 plus tax. The other restaurant choices were in the same price range (Abacus, Jaspers, Sea Grill, etc). Many restaurants require minimums or substantial deposits for parties over 20. I decided to try and find a happy medium while accomodating as many people as possible since the dinners keep growing. Since we had last event in Las Colinas, the previous in Downtown, it was time to head North. Updated list: Jim E. (2) Frances (2) Jimmy V (2) Robert C (1) Rob Lay (2) Steve (2)
Do you need a Ferrari to go? I made it out to the exotic car night last month in my black 996, I had a great time meeting everyone, if its not limited to Ferrari owners, you could put me down for two.
Steve, you are more than welcome to join us as far as im concerned, we like meeting new people ferrari or not... as long as you plan to but one soon .
11 spaces remaining before we start a waitlist.... So far: Jim E. (2) Frances (2) Jimmy V (2) Robert C (1) Rob Lay (2) Steve (2) WatchDoc (2) Manny (2) RkRenek (2) Jason (2)
I just sent this out to the DFW Ferrari list, if you didn't receive an email from me tonight and want to join our list. Please email me rlay -a-t- ferrarichat.com with FCA DFW in subject. Thank you, rob
