OK, this is a public poll, so your name will show up with your guess...and those who have made wise-cracks but who don't make a choice in this poll are going to get razzed!

The 2 stock 348 tb's were replaced with 8 stock 355 tb's, and the chips inside the Motronic 2.5 ECUs are being changed as the project progresses.

No other mods are being added to the car at this time.

I have been trying to calculate this based on interpolated data - big words, eh? My logic is that a gain of at least 50 Hp should be achievable thru the larger tbs, chip and increased fuel pressure (I think it will be necessary to increase fp using a regulator and not a higher capacity fuel pump, although that is certainly a possibility). My hope is that 400Hp is reached, but I think it is a testament to the 348 and the Stooges if the car "only" reaches 350 crank Hp.

Doubtful? Here's an analogy. BWM's E36 M3 came to us in 1995 with a 240 Hp motor at about 6800 rpm. Dinan and Comforti chipped it to produce up to 19 more (increasing the redline to 7200 rpm). Adding a larger tb, higher fuel pressure regulator and Borla exhaust brought mine to 270 Hp. The Euro version had 286 Hp due to its 6 tbs and slightly higher red line (7200 rpm). The stock engine saw 46 Hp coming from the Euro tbs and the US version got 30 Hp from chipping, a larger single tb, higher fuel pressure and an exhaust upgrade. It seems to me that finding 50 Hp in the 348 engine by doing all these things is completely believable.

    Good luck!

What brand dyno will it be run on and what drivetrain loss factor will be used to calculate the crank hp? Also, what will the redline be set at? Stock exhaust?
