Has anyone found a way to polish the exhaust tips? I just picked up a single can muffler and the tips are slightly brownish etc. I have polished stainless steel but having two round tips close to each other makes it difficult. I am thinking about sending it out to a polishing place. Any suggestions?

The brown color is from the stainless steel reacting to the O2 in the air. That happens with higher temps. My original tips are not as brown. Guess if I have them polished they will turn brownish in time again anyway.

You should be able to get s terry cloth rag of single thickness between the tips. Move the cloth like you would for a shoe shine (with the proper cleaning product). I got some products from www.deepfinish.com that should be good for that.
