Sorry, there was a 5 minute lag between when I moved the forum to the Subscribed section and then posted the global announcement.

Politics & Religion has now moved to SUBSCRIBED section...

    -

The existence and structure of P&R has been discussed extensively for years. For the most part we have intelligent mature discussions where information can be shared and we can learn. The ugly side of P&R is Jekyll & Hyde users, personal battles, intolerance, and breaking of forum rules that lead to moderation of otherwise good users and the animosity that brings.

Lets not make drastic changes in the mostly good formula at FerrariChat.com. We're not getting rid of P&R yet, we're moving it to the Subscribed section for only Silver, Rossa, Moderators, Consultants, Sponsors, and Honorary users to participate.

We also realize we can't get rid of all P&R discussions in Other Off Topic, but these will be HEAVILY moderated and there will be little tolerance.

P&R has been a public sore of FerrariChat.com and the last thing we want is our on topic discussions of Ferrari negatively impacted.

    Thank you,
    rob

Thanks Rob. I'm not sure that this will fix the problem. But it is a step in the right direction. Maybe next, you'll have to raise the subscription to $2,500. I'm sure than Jeanie will like that. :)

Please moderate Other Off Topic like Nazis! I don't want any of that P&R crap to invade the sections for normal people, please. :)

Of course you do...but I am really watching my beloved Bulldogs play Boise State, so I would not be really attentive at the moment.

Oddly enough, 2 of the threads are about Georgia Bulldogs & 1 is about Boise State. Un-be-lievable!

Can we at least make it readable to others? Just give non-subscribed users no posting priviledges?

We can think about this and discus more, but right now my thoughts are I don't want everyone to see it, that was part of the problem. New users and the public seeing negativity there and then maybe some acceptance that behavior was OK in other forums.

Too bad...I hardly ever post in P&R but I always read through it, and even though it can get chaotic at times, I always thought it was educational and the most interesting forum on f-chat... guess i'll have to pay to read through it now.

Good idea Rob now you can censure all the low life that caused the problems in the P&R section. Good luck with the locals.

One need only suspect that this move was completely political.

Obviously, Rob you own the place and have the right to do as you please, but I for one will not pay money to see a bunch of ferrari-owners with money to burn patting each other on back over the latest round of tax cuts for the wealthy.

Since you don't own a Ferrari, don't aspire to own one and the number of Ferrari-related posts you have made approach zero, you (and quite a few more like you) might be happier taking your potshots at society somewhere else.

The name of the forum is Off Topic -> Politics and Religion, so how is Ferrari ownership and expertise at all relevant? Furthermore, I have never been so much as warned by a mod about my behavior on any forum of this board, therefore I am only left to assume that those who are "like me" are not the problem.
If I had to guess, attacking of convenient targets instead of those responsible is the problem with P&R. You have demonstrated your own lack of restraint in this respect with this post. Have fun in the new and un-improved P&R.

Forgive me. I never thought suppressing discussion was democratic. It is also an excellent way to get out of doing your job as monitor. Now, only those who are willing to pay can voice their opinions. Now only the elite can see which of us is crude. Neat! Sieg Heil, guys.

You're the kind that prompted the move. Whine somewhere else, and STFU about hitler, nobody died here. A$$hat. Elite? Pony up money and post away, support your useless bandwidth, or use someone elses.

Good move. Short of dumping it all together. Useful discourse is fine, but it spills over everywhere.
