just had the chance to test drive a boxster s 2005...a nice improvement over the old model...better looks, nice interior, 280hp, very shifting and stiff chassis and better engine sound...the car is now as fast as the 996 911s, with less body flex than the 996 cab....i was a blast to drive..i have also driven the c6coupe...no conv. yet... it was alsoa great car but totally different..faster, more torque, cheaper interior, bigger feel and less nimble feel...not as good steering feel or shifting..i know the classic comparison is the 997 vs the vette, but both the c6 conv and boxster s will be priced in the high 50s typically optioned...so perhaps this is a better comparison...

I didn't know the new 2005 Boxster's were here yet. My brother ordered one the day they announced the new design and traded in his 2004 Boxster S for it. He was told he should get his mid Jan which would be one of the first to arrive in the States. showed him your review and he liked it. I am looking forward to giving it a spin to compare it to the 2001 Boxster S I had and the Maser Spyder I now have

boxster s is a porsche- porsche made, porsche engine...
c6 vette is OK but i would take a boxster s over it anyday- just a little more "prestigious". unless we're tlaking z06 which i would take handsdown over a boxster.

I had a chance to drive a C6 a few months ago and it is a nice car, they definitely addressed the issue of fit and finish, both interior and exterior. It's also a very quick car. If speed/acceleration is a big part of what you are looking for then I would say go with the Vette.

Having said that.... FF General Motors, at the rate things are going I doubt I will be getting another Vette or anything else because they (so far) haven't done a thing to address the ridiculous level of incompetency at the local dealer.

Someday I will own a C6 convert. Silver with red seats.
I like the new boxster but you wanted a poll so C6 it is.

    didn't buy a new one, but I bought a 2000 Boxster S 2 weeks ago. Red/Tan 33k miles.

I'm loving every minute of it!!!!!! It handles like a dream, makes a much much nicer engine noise than the lazy vette.

I'd say it depends on where you drive. Highways/drag racing vette or if you ever turn boxster!

I had both a 02 boxsterS and an 02 C5 convertable at the sametime two summers ago. I loved the power in the C5 and it was great on the open road, but in the twisties the boxsterS was by far more fun to drive. I took the stock exhausts off both cars (neither sounded very good). I no longer have either of the cars but the C5 was the first to go. I 100% agree that the boxsters are the best used car buys out there right now.

I just got back from going with my brother to pick up his new 987s, They told him it was the first delivered in this area. Told him I would not drive him there unless he would let me drive it back. Must say this car is a huge improvement over the 2001 Boxster S I had. Looks much better, improved interior. Sound of exhaust 100% better. Felt much more torque at low speed and the shorter shifting was great. Still love my Maserti Spyder more. But for the money it is one hell of a sports car

Just under $65,000 with many options including Nav, Heated seats, Full leather and bunch of other things. Does seem like a decent price considering I paid a little over $65,000 for my 2001 that had less options. With only slight bump up in base price from the 2004's and now includes PSM and upgraded wheels it's actualy cheaper. They still had a couple of 2004 on the lot so they must have to make some great deals to move them. Found the car to be more rigid and also temp was only 8 degrees and ride was very smooth compared to how mine felt on the frozen road.
