    Guys,

The highjacking of good Ferrari related threads is more active than ever. In my opinion this creates one big MSN forum for what reason already many people have left. In the past we created the bonkersthread for this kind of chitchat talk. Now it seems to spread all over the place.
Of course we must keep this a light, not-always-serious forum where we also meet some good friends. But I regret to see how it often destroys good enjoyable discussions.

Because it is a democratic forum I want to know your opinion.
Any kind of feedback is appreciated.

Do we go on like this? Or would you guys like to see a bit more balance?

Well, as in all discussions, you can drift away from the initial topic, without ruining the entire conversation. It just gets out of hand when the initial topic is completely lost in all sorts of irrelevant remarks.

I guess you're right somehow Ton...
Some threads can lose value quickly because of hi-jacking... and thus scare people away... or let's them think twice before contributing to a certain thread... I guess it's no fun to see valuable thoughts being drowned in a converstation full of inside jokes that you don't get as an outsider... :(

But, on the other hand, it's very difficult to keep a thread un-hi-jacked sometimes... we all know a conversation can easily lead into another and a joke here and there as a reply to a certain quote is easily used... The fact that lot's of people on here know each other quiet well stimulates this.
It also helps to get to know each other even more... but still... as an outsider it's not that funny... I experienced the same on various other sites... I hardly post there or post a lot less because I don't feel at home that much there... or just don't understand the inside jokes because I'm not visiting frequently enough on those other sites for that...

So, it stays a delicat matter... banning hi-jacking could make a section very very silent again, while allowing it could scare possible new Ferrari-friends away...

Don't really know how to vote on that poll actually... :( There always is a downside...
Maybe it's best to tolerate it a bit as long as we all realize we shouldn't be let it go out of control... at a certain moment a brake has to be pulled... like you are doing now... :D Banning it completely is almost impossible and would have some sad side effects...

Wolfgang wouldn't be Wolfgang if he wasn't the "Hi-jack-King"... ;)

    I agree with you Alex.
But recently it seems to have grown a bit out of hand. Some good threads with a good discussion are destroyed. The best example is the new sticky NL Fchat thread. It is absolutely unreadable anymore for someone new.

I think it is primarily our own responsibility as users on this forum, to respect and honor the initial topic. Some topics are more serious than others. Fchat offers enough space to goof around, so the goofing around doesn't need to be done in serious threads.

Let's try to guide most of the goofing towards the Bonkers thread again fe :)
