Stones - they started out as a Blues Cover Band. The rest is history still in the making. Factoid of the day: The Stones were in awe of Muddy Waters - so much so, that it was one of his songs they used as their name & wanted to be on the same record label as him. So they travelled to America - Chess Records was their destination. Now, Muddy - like other Bluesmen, was getting reamed by the record company - so he got most of his money by performing live or doing side jobs - that day, when The Stones walked in... Muddy was painting - he was making more money painting than he was recording - for the very same record company.
