A Ferrari buddy of mine recently detailed his car with a 'bluish' stuff that he refuses to tell me the name of ... It eliminates swirl marks -especially in black paint - and leaves an absolutely stunning shine. It doesn't last long (a few days at best), but long enough for a concours event.

Since both of us are in the same club and compete together, he is playing coy and not telling me what this stuff is. His car did win at an event we were at this past summer (I didn't enter - too much work this time around...but next year...)

Any clue? It's not a wax, but some sort of polymer and it wipes on easy and dries to a haze very quickly. I have no idea what it is. The swirl marks simply disappear!

I just saw this yesterday... It was probably the new stuff from 3m.. Ultra finito 3000 swirl mark eliminator. 3m has a new blue buffing pad and blue ultra fine compound. You can get it at Oriellys or other parts stores.

The 3M Ultra Fina is a polish designed to "remove" swirl marks. The only polymer sealant I know of that fills (Zaino doesn't fill, despite claims) is made by a company named Prima.
