180 mph. Damn. You'd never know it.

    It's still a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I'm one of those people who was thrilled when it was announced but disappointed when it was unveiled. There's a lot of people who have been unimpressed - even angered by it's pedestrian appearance, particularly in light of it's namesake, which, in it's heyday, conveyed bad-to-the-boneness, even while sitting still.

    *sigh*

Hopefully those folks at Pontiac will tweak the exterior as the years go by.

A big improvement over the current GTO that to me is a big disappointment. I guess it's true you never get over your first love and mine was a '68 goat, Candy apple red with cherry bomb exhaust that my father bought for me in '78 when I was a Junior in H.S. What's funny is I still think of it as a fast car while my new spyder would have smoked it.

That orange one looks pretty cool and more "bad-ass" than the normal GTO. Hopefully they'll move towards that body-style, or make that body style available in some form, such as the "ram-air" model that the article is talking about.

Wax, they're talking about the one-off model there when talking about the top speed of 180. The production GTO has a top speed of 160 mph.

Yeah, I'd noted the huge increase in hp. Guess I should have italicized still, as in; still a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Amazing what sheet metal does to sales, ain't it? Lackluster response to any given "disfavored" Ferrari or Pontiac, simply because of what meets the eye. Oh, well - some folks can always count on getting bargains on the secondary market and so forth with "sleepers."

It's tought to beat the 05 coming out. 33K for 400 HP a nice interior and the now have a hood scoop that makes it stand out at least a little better.
