Found this poor Ferrari sitting at an apartment builing not too far from my house. It appears to be in very sad condition. Large spots of rust through. Interior badly faded and cracked. I left a note saying that I wanted to buy it. Probably only good for parts though. I dont know any more about it except what the pictures tell. Inspection sticker expired in 2006.

What do you think? Probably worth 5-6K in parts?

That is a potential great deal especially if you know what it needs to get it running. Pursue this and keep us updated.

I got the 30K service done and it has been running like a clock. Nothing like a 348!

With some armor all, a can of matte black paint or two and some strategic camera angles you could easily get $35,000 for it on ebay ;)

I agree with Dr. Tommy Cosgrove. Not that you should treat it like a garage queen, but at least keep it in descent conditions man.

my 85 looked like that when i bought it. no big deal if you can do the body work and paint yourself. any idea about the mechs? that's where the money enters the equation.

Sad. Seems like fewer and fewer survive the years. But it is indeed good for those of us who love and maintain our cars!

If I had the cash to buy that car, I would buy it. May be in bad condition now, but give it to the right restoration firm, and it will be running like clock work.

Looks too shiney to have been sitting outside since 2006. How do you know it isn't a beater daily driver?

Not a really good advertising message for "Independent Ferrari Service"...

I'd make that license plate frame disappear if I worked at IFS...

+1. Run the VIN and that should give you the name of the last registered owner. If that reveals nothing, then try a title search with that VIN. And if that doesn't help, then get the cops to declare it abandoned, and you can be a good citizen and take it home :)

Robbie - What are the laws regarding getting a vehicle declared legally abandoned?? That could be the way to go for this 308...
