I have an 07 430 with a MT. I had the dreaded plastic bushing replaced which made a huge difference. I had the gear oil replaced with Redline at the same time as the repair last summer.

The transmission shifts smoothly until the temperature increases usually after driving 30 minutes or so. Then it becomes notchy and the shift lever doesn't go side to side as easy when in neutral. It's not horrible but a noticeable difference.

I would like to try another gear oil at the fluid change in a month or so. Thoughts?

Which Redline did you use? Some are too slippery and inhibit synchronizer action, which sounds like what you may have. There is a compromise between synchronizer function and LSD function. I use Valvoline synthetic 75W90 with good results, and I believe some have had good luck with Motul and even the recommended Shell.

there are several threads on 75w90 oil here. Look at the DIY 360 oil change thread...I used Royal Purple in my 360 transaxle

Your symptoms sound to me more like you might have a dry shift cable problem more than an oil issue.

Sounds normal to me. After a long motorway drive the gearbox oil heats right up and the gearbox becomes notchy and smoother to shift, albeit with a bit more muscle to move. Feels nice and clunky. Wish it was like this when it was cold.

Just about to change my gearbox oil for the first time and I was going to go with redline so grateful for any more feedback.
