    OK Daniel you got me for now. I'm at $22k in the last 8 months but the top end rebuild isn't complete yet, so I don't have the final number yet. And yes, stuff in the Ferrari world is really expensive. I had Scuderia Rampante go with non-OEM valves and valve guides for about 1/3 the cost of Ferrari. Hope to have the car back in a few weeks if we can find a few "unobtanium" parts.

    Ridiculous pricing from Italy is driving 3rd party intervention. When you can hand-forge something to better quality for less money and time than can be delivered from the factory, options will appear.

    Mrs. JRR is STILL buying shoes to extract her revenge on what I did to our checkbook that year....

    Exactly,Mine was more like15K,3500,6k,5k,2k,.....this doesnt count the endless thousands worth of tire replacements with each oil change, the nickel & dime garbage that never ends ....but it drives great!

    Well, the independent has offered to fix the car, provided he agrees that it was due to his shop's error. I have told him that he can go take a look at the car, and decide whether or not he accepts responsibility, before I will let it be taken to his shop. If he does not accept responsibility, unless he can provide compelling evidence and a clear rationale for what went wrong, I will absolutely sue him immediately. I've spoken to an attorney, and basically, it's pegged up and ready to go. The last thing I'll do is have him take the car, remove the evidence, and claim it was something else. No one seems to have any other explanation for what happened except the cam sprocket nut being improperly torqued and working loose.

    Meanwhile, if he runs away, I'm gonna have to have the work done at another indy... have some great references. The dealer estimate just to diagnose it and get it running will pay for most of a nice second 355! Even if I won the case and stuck the first guy with the bill, it's crazy.

    Man, the weather is nice, and I miss my car!!
