105, OUCH! He didn't cut you any slack. End-of-the-month + major holiday + roads busy means more money in the town coffers.

Is that a "Must appear" offense? Was it during a run?

BRUCE, DO YOU KNOW ANY LAWYER-TYPES THAT CAN HELP HIM OUT IN WARREN?

    Good luck.

Oh man. Not what I was hoping to see when I logged on to hear about your run.

Let's hear the details...I assume that he got you with laser from a distance at that speed.

Sorry to hear about this John. :(

I got yanked this week making noise in the 430 but it was a catch and release. NYPD really has it out for me.

WOW, thats pretty bad. To prevent further mishaps, you must do two or three things. Buy a Valentine One, it saved me today while i was doing 95. I got plenty of warning, slowed down, went into the center lane; and nothing happend. In your situation since it was local cops, they dont run laser; so you probably would have been saved today with a V1.

Also join the Fraternal Order of Police, as an Associate Member. It is open to anyone, you get a windshield badge, and plenty of FOP cards. Its a 100 flat fee, with a 25 dollar renewal fee. It shows support, and will probably get you out of a ticket.

Then for 50 bux you can replace your plates on your car, assuming it is not a lease. With Law Enforcment Memorial plates, it shows support and donates money to fallen cops families.

Lets just say I wasnt the only one popped.

Im an FOP member for 11 years, didnt help. He was buried DEEP DEEP in the trees and brush and I caught a view of him in my side view when it was all of too late.

Until its all said and done, cant really say more. Pictures are worth a 1000 words. Like Bailey said, its bound to happen. Wasnt the first and wont be the last.

Everyone has to justify their existence and do their job. I find it funny that some guy in NYC purchased $25,000.00USD worth of merchandise in under 30 minutes this morning, one item being a guitar of mine, on ebay. He contacted just about every seller, offered to PayPal the money, but HAD TO pick up the item today! TODAY! ** TODAY!! **.

    Ebay account: Illinois
    Phone number: NYC
    Paypal Account: Not his

I called the local police, they didnt care.

    Contacted Ebay -- Didnt care

Contacted PAY PAL with the account he used to pay -- They dont care

There's people with CHAINSAWS!! and i get a ticket.

    (shrug)

No, John was definitely not alone. A few of us were there too. I don't want to complicate matters by saying too much or speaking for others who were there, but let's just say that the tickets we all got are crap.

I have to say, though, so far the exprience has shown me how classy some of you Fchat folks are. If I was going to get popped like I did today, I'm glad it was with some guys who took it in stride and thought about how to help each other in the situation, instead of "everyone for himself". I continue to be impressed with many of the people on Fchat.

If anyone on here lives in NYC and has been stopped in NJ or elsewhere in the tri-state, please answer the question about whether points transfer.

    Thanks.

    Welcome to Ferrari Ownership.

This is the first time in my life I got a ticket and im not FUMING mad. Maybe its experience speaking. The "system" doesnt always work. Lots of loopholes.

Anyone know any politicians in Warren or Somerset county that can help us get a reduction? I know the tickets wont get squashed, but any help anyone can offer us would be great. I got the officer to tell me that if it were him driving on a gorgeous day like today he would have not adhered to the 65MPH posted speed limit.

Dont you just love double standards? Do as I say, not as I do.

Yeah -- I think you should post the pics! Of course, if the other guys object, I'll respect that and maybe you could email me. But I at least want to get some cool pics out of this!

Damm, sorry to hear that. I know a really good lawyer who is working on my 110 in a 65. He has gotten me out of 3 other tickets. Let me know if you want his contact.

Also, I know someone said to get the V1, personally, ive owned both and the 8500 is def a better radar detector. The only thing the v1 has on the 8500 is the arrows. But honestly, if I see my radar picking up a signal, I dont care what direction its coming from, I am going to slow down.

Having a PBA card or a FOP shield does not entitle one to speed or a free walk everytime you get pulled over. Its a bad attitude to have and to suggest to people that by having one you will not get a ticket is just wrong.

Exactly, the only way to speed with impunity is to be an off duty cop.
Flash some tin, talk about being on the job, and you can get away with 165.

It was State Police, that explains there harshness. They dont mess around. Did they want to stop you all??, how would they do something like that?? If they get behind one guy, how would you know to get over as well?? Im just curious.
