Porche Club Car Show In Wichita Saturday 6 Sep

Whats going on????
I am assuming that the Porsche deal did not come together. If so, no worries....a better deal will come along.

I a go for Saturday, my viper is down for paint have the bumper removed and side sills, also doing the breaks, $$$ 600.00 for the break pads. might have to trade it in for a T/A and a single wide. Allen, Bryan and Scott hope to see all the gang their.

 

Another time conflict..... I am headed to the Zoobilee fundraiser Saturday evening.

The Viper is still out of action. It turned out that the block was machined improperly, and the sleeves weren't sealing properly. It's "new block time." Arrow Racing (in the subburbs of Detroit) has the engine (the car is still at Woodhouse). I'm still not sure when I'll get it back (I "hope" it's before Winter sets in).

John sorry to hear about the car..... I do know a guy, his name is jo that runs best motor works that is selling some porsches. Not sure on the condition but since he's moved, he told me that the cars need to go. Does anyone know anybody who owns a garrage at the new storage location near all star sports east on web road? I was offered a garrage space but the price was "outrageous"! But from what I'm told, the storage complex is primarily car guys wanting spare room. I have'nt seen them myself, but from what I'm told, the place has multiple ferraris, porsches, bentleys and other exotics parked there. Talking about spare rooms... Brian hows the building? Did you and bob make a deal? If you need help with the floors just give me a yell... I'll work for pizza and a spin in your go cart! Scott.

I have not had a chance to speak with Bob yet, I have been too busy lately to think about future projects...but not about cars of course!
The reports I have been reading about the new ZR-1 have me thinking about yours....hopefully it will not be too long, it is going to be a beast though.

Brian, since you mentioned it, I was in kc for the holiday weekend and somehow, I always find myself at a dealership every labor day weekend, either looking or buying a car and driving one home. I spoke with the sales manager with regards to their allocation of zr1s and he says "well, the first one is spoken for but I'm getting a second one built soon and should be available by nov or dec and its available". I said, great this will move me closer than Joe Self is saying.... well, needless to say, they would like 75k. I said sure I'll write you the check and I'll pay the 55k when I get the car..... the manager scratches his head, and he says, the 75k was intended to be "over" the sticker price! I courdially asked him if he read stupid arcoss my forehead. He immediately stated that 75k over msrp was what the first car went for. Well, then needless to say, I walked away knowing that there is a sap out there willing to pay the price of an 09 Z06 + ZR1 for bragging rights of owning the first. I guess, I'll just have to wait for Joe Self's number. I've always admitted to being a car nut, not car "stupid".

 

Great story!!!! How true that is. The sad or scary part is that you are correct, they will get someone to pay that over MSRP. I remember when news hit that Mits was bringing the Evo to the states. I began calling around and most dealerships did not even know what an Evo was....even when it was announced by Mits. $15K over msrp and $20K down got you in line...but they had no list. Needless to say, I did not get and do not have an Evo.
Looking around at dealerships is a lot of fun. Usually when I am up there, the women go shopping and I go out hitting all the dealerships....
