I am looking for help with my Dino's motor.Due to low lead in the gas I had burned several exaust valves. When we stripped the motor,we noticed tiny cracks on the inlet ports just before the valve guides. On pressure testing one of these areas leaks and can only get worse.Does anybody know where this can be fixed.Worse possible scenario, another head.here's hoping,Obelix

Repairing these heads is a decision that can only be made by someone that has done the same sort of thing before. I can suggest contacting Wil de Groot at ExoticCars USA. He has seen most every cylinder head Ferrari ever made.

Maybe send him some good photos and he can tell what to expect.

    good luck

That is a good option in that even the best repair job to a cylinder head is not a 100% endeavor. I have seen many quality repair jobs fail due to a myriad of possibilities.

Remember that if this head got hot enough to crack in a visible location, there could be other unseen damage. Even a magna-fluxing can miss cracks in water passages and in manifold runners.

It kind of depends on your budget and you willingness to attempt the repair over the new piece.

When I had my Ferrari repair business, I occasionally dealt with cracked heads. I sent ALL of them to Bob Wallace, in Arizona.
Back in the 80s, he was the best - If he's still in business, I would contact him.

sduke's point about the future is well made however a guy I have been dealing with for years has not only fixed MANY Ferrari heads but is also very good about telling you before he spends a lot of your money if you will just be wasting it. He's in Nor Cal at 707-433-3480, Ask for Chris.

I have a very nice rear bank head I don't need, used, but excellent condition. Picked it up when we were rebuilding my car, just in case. IF interested, PM me.
