The UK Porsche magazine "GT" has a buying guide to the Gt2 this month that is a good read if anyone's looking to buy. The car is quite a different animal to the 996 Turbo with different suspension, strengthened gearbox, different engine internals and turbo's, different induction system and (from memory) valve train design.

So DrTax, if you had to do it all over again would you still purchase the 550 vs. GT2 if you didn't have a Porsche in your garage?

Absolutely no doubt that I'd get the Shark. I don't care much for turbos, even though Porsche makes the best in the world. There is just something about that bottemless pit of torque that makes driving a Maranello in the real world so much fun. When the occassion calls for it, you just sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight. Other times, well, as Led Zep sez:

It's been a long time since I Rock and Rolled,
It's been a long time since I did the Stroll.
Ooh, let me get it back, let me get it back,
Let me get it back, baby, where I come from.
It's been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.
    Yes it has.

Ah yeah, life can be berry, berry good.

    Take care, DrTax

ps I should confess, however, that I may be making a change in the near future. You never know with us old crazies. Don't forget. We invented Rock N' Roll.

The suspension is so stiff that one wheel come off the ground when you roll over curbs). You cannot make a TT into a GT-2, it would be pointless. And, since these cars never really "took hold" in the
