Looks fantastic. I love the way you get the whole Porsche team behind you in a 918. Amazing product support.
Damn, that thing certainly looks like serious business. Except for the gauge cluster, I think they hit another home run.
Actually, I have to agree with you for the most part, and initially I loved the design. Problem is there is so much surface detail on the car that your eye never really finds a place to focus (e.g., 308/328 air intake, Daytona nose, 246 intakes and fender curves, etc.) or can take in the overall shape (Jag E-Type, Porsche 550 and Speedster). I think if they de-clutter the production version it could be a stunner. It does have some 246-like curves under all the visual mess.
We look forward to Racing against it at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring next June. Shaping up to be a very interesting race with a lot on Manufacturers entering cars.
it will cost 768.026 euro and 918 will be built. production will start in 2013. if you buy one, you have the chance to also buy a porsche 911 turbo s edition 918 spyder which will come this summer. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Well, the press piece says the electric engines last for just 16 miles...if that is true, you are paying 800k for a 500 V8 Porsche carrying 2 extra dead engines..?
the electric engine lasts for more if you use both engines, the v8 and the electrical, or am i getting this wrong?
Good to see it going into production. Hopefully some iteration of the 918 will run Le Mans in the near future. Other than writing Porsche a $1.1 million check for privilege of having the 911 keep the 918 company, I wonder what will make it a "Special Edition"? My guess is a nifty little badge above the glovebox.
I noticed that. Can Porsche do anything these days without a "special edition" 911 being introduced? I'm worried that if they remodel the men's room at the museum we'll get a 911 Special Ceramic Edition.
