Very cool. How did you come across this ? Stories are great to hear.
Haven't posted update for awhile as I have been trying to locate a better engine and find a guy good at boat repair to re-gelcoat the body. Normal automotive body repair techniques was not going to work long term on the body due to the flexing of the fiberglass body so i decided to bite the bullet and have it done professionally. Pics of the new Tecumseh motor I found on eBay. It is brand new (from early 1990's) and has electric start ! And the body as its close to be finished. Next will be to break out the chassis and figure out how the new motor is going to mount on it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Picked up the body from the Dana Point boat repair shop that I had re-gelcoat the body. Been out there since the end of April. All done by hand, lots of old resin and gone removed and replaced with compatible materials to prevent cracking in the future. Hello, I saw the thread on the 936 JR and wanted to give you some info on the 936 JR. The AIR 936s were a continuation from the factory 936jr that were sold by Porsche. Mike at AIR built five with input from Kerry Morse.I bought two of them and sold one in 1986..They are a really neat piece! Each one was finished to the buyers taste...I had the martini graphics done on mine along with a quick release momo steering wheel and a 911 ignition switch also added a master kill switch on the outside. I know morse has one...that was at Montery next to the 959 at The Canepa booth. If you see the driver info on the side of the 936 jr he has his name. Mr Morse has the only Real 936 in private hands so it's only natural to have a junior to go along with the real deal 936 I also have the owners manual for the real 936junior along with the sales info brochure As it was available to order from Porsche with a part number and a strong retail price! Looks like your doing a great job on the restoration!

Had retrieve the frame from my friends shop as he didn't have time to work on it. Asked one of my shop welders to work on it off the clock at my shop and finish reinforcing the front end to the frame so it does not fail ever again. Butt welded sq box tube without any gusseting was not a good idea. Also removed the differential so it can now go to a powder coating shop for sand blasting and a black powder coat. Then I can get on to fitting the engine back on it. I'm trying to get it ready for Monterey Car Week or Rennsport. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Still collecting parts. Picked up some fiberglass front and rear bumpers, valences recently. Sold off a 3.0L long block that needed rebuild to raise funds to buy some more items. Hope to get going on it again in a few months.
That is going to be a blast when done. Would love to have one. Everytime I look they get more and more pricey.
Sold at RM Sothebys this week. 100 of these were built and sold around the world. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Trek up to Monterey to see family and a side trip to Canepa in Scotts Valley to see the original 936 mini built by Kerry Morse and now in the Canepa Museum. Wanted get some pics for reassembly but find that it was built a bit different then the other four that followed. Still very nice of them to let me in to see it and crawl around by myself. Been working on this for awhile..... Trying to simulate the BBS brake cooling discs on the wheels much like Kerry Morse's original car. I heated and stretched some 1mm ABS sheet over an escutcheon I discovered. I now have to fabricate and attached the fins to the disc and attached the assembly to the wheel after install. I think this will come out looking pretty cool when I am done. Probably other things I need to be doing on the kart chassis but I got an idea and just started making it. I'm getting ADHD as I get older. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
