This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Porsche brand. It all started with the famous 356, so some expected the brand to launch a 911 Speedster (or something like it) to mark the anniversary. In the end, the 911 of this jubilee year will be called ST. It's a name that can be traced back to the model's history, since it was used to designate racing versions of the 911S in 1970 and 1971. This is not a racing version, but there's purity in the concept all the same. The 911 ST will be sold as a special edition inspired by a short-run racing model from the early 1970s. The latter probably served as inspiration for certain design elements, including the Porsche Heritage emblem, which is no doubt hidden beneath that black circle on the rear engine grill cover. Don't expect huge design changes from a standard 911 GT3 Touring, but there will surely be a few retro-inspired touches here and there.
