Sounds great :) Might also give Porsche a mild stimulus to put that V8 in a sports car *cough* 928 *cough*.

There is a rumor of some sort of super-sedan, but who the hell knows. Word is that Porsche will never go against Audi head to head, thus no entry in LMP1; the (also rumored) reason the CGT did not make it into race production originally, and was instead redesigned as a road car. Politics, politics.

Could/would Ferrari get involved with prototypes? I guess F1 and the 360/575 cars keep them more than busy enough.

Would be nice to see a Ferrari race some sort of Porsche other than a 911. I am really hoping Porsche develops the Cayman racing concept and allows it to reach its full potential.

Ferrari only gets involved with racing outside of Formula One when the Formula One team is doing well. At the moment I'd say all guns are being brought to bear to help the 2005 F1 car.

I understand that main reason for LMP 2 is that the Porsche will be a customer in 2007. There fore one must keep the cost down.

My question is "does this mean that Penske will be leaving the IRL?" We all know that he is unhappy there and can not go back to CAFT.

My guess is that Penske already has 1 foot out the IRL door, as does Toyota.
