Any one have any opinions on this year and model? I have been looking at a low mileage S with 23k miles BLK/Tan. After owning the Esprit for a couple of years I just don't get out in it as much as I want. The Boxster is a more of a useable car for some quick trips and it seems to have as much pull as the Esprit although that will happen with a 13 year newer car. Just looking for some opinions on the car.

Is this a 986 S or 987 S? Both are great cars. The newer model is a bit more refined, and a stronger performer. I also like the 987 styling better.

+1. Both AWESOME cars, but the newer one looks a bit more refined than the older one and has a bit better performance. If you can get it for under $30k I would think it would be a steal...not sure what the market is on these though as I have not been following them. Boxsters are wonderful cars!

Good luck! When you get the car BE SURE to join the Porsche Club of America and be sure to take it to the track! You won't be sorry you got rid of a Lotus for this car FOR SURE!

+1 hate lotus's, every single one i've ever driven has been a big let-down and my dads 78(i think) did nothing special except catch on fire every now and then!

Boxter S is a fantastic car for the coin, get one you will not be dissapointed...they actually have a nice exhaust note as well.
