Would you buy 2000 Boxster S w/ 6 speed, 57K miles (60K service is done w/ new clutch, new plugs) for $24K? Just by looking, the car looks very good.

I don't know anything about Boxster thus I don't even know the price is good or not. I owned 911Carrerra before, and have fond memory, so I'm considering.

Would you advise/comment on this Boxster?

NO. Yoshi, 24 thousand U.S. dollars is highway robbery.

    1. I wouldn't pay over 20 for a 2000 model unless it was an S.
    2. A 2001 has a couple of nice extras and should be able to be had for about 20-22 with less than 40,000 miles.

I had a 2001 Boxster and loved it. Problem is, these things depreciate so fast it's laughable. A co-worker bought a 2001 last summer, private party sale, 1 owner, meticulously mainted 30,000 mile car in desirable silver/black with Litronics and full-leather pack for $23500.

Boxsters are plentiful, don't jump on the first "deal" you find.

He mentioned it was an 'S' model. There was a superb one on Ebay recently, the very nice Seal Gray color, with the upgraded 18" wheels which went for 23 or 24K.

    Ok. It's official. I'm blind. :)

Check also to see if it's had the rear main seal replaced. Also, inspect the coolant tank as they are prone to cracking.

If you get it, take the front bumper cover off and clean the radiators. You will be amazed at how much junk builds up in there over a few years.

$24,000 US is full retail on that car. It would have to have everything I wanted and be in mint shape for me to buy it. The Boxsters are good cars and can last if you take care of them, just like any other car. Be smart and get a good deal. I bought a 98 540 6 speed with new cats, O2 sensors, extra 17' rims with tires and other goodies for about $10,000 US.

    Keep looking.

You're right....that number would be good for a car with under 40k miles on it.....57k is high for that money, that car should be about $3k less.

Hey yoshi what options does the car have?

    I have a 2000 S with 45k and love it. Mine has the sport pack/xenons/full leather/painted console.......on and on

I'd reccomend the car as I haven't had a single problem out of mine. It is the best handling car I've ever owned and can keep up with alot more powerful cars.

Thanks all, Josh, Tyler, Dan, Neil, Doug, Jeremy, & Kds, for your input. I'm glad I asked!

I contacted the seller, (he's a co-worker of my friend, who is going back to Japan), but he already sold the car. He still has it but the buyer already paid for it on the spot yesterday.

The color of this car wasn't what I liked, but other than that, it looked very well maintained. He said it has full options, but I have no idea what are options on Boxster.

A friend told me that $24K for this car was way below the market price, but I really didn't see it that way. Your input confirmed it.

I appreciate your comments. Thank you very much!
