I have driven them all. FWIW, the one I enjoyed the most was the Turbo. Rode the best, went the hardest and looked the best. Second spot would be a Diesel S. Plenty of torque. Thought I would like the GTS the most, however on the country roads I drove it on, the ride was very jarring. Very uncomfortable in fact, although the GTS is the best looking in my opinion. Especially in black with the red stitching package.
It's funny. I know a lot of people rag the Porsche SUV's (I was definitely one of them) but when we purchased our last car, I had promised my partner she could get an SUV (I had talked her out of one last time around). I went out one weekend, drove pretty much everything I could to create a shortlist of "approved" options. I drove the RR Sport, SQ5, MB GLE, X5 M50D and the Cayenne S. None of them really set me alive (not that I expected them to to be honest), but at the Porker dealership, beside the Cayenne was a Macan Turbo. I had always thought them to be quite small like a RR Evoque and at 6'6" figured I wouldn't fit and never considered one. But it was surprising to see that it wasn't that much smaller than the Cayenne so asked to drive it as well. Well, honestly it was a pretty surprising drive. For a tall AWD, it actually handled quite well and the sound was great for a twin turbo six. They hadn't announced the GTS at that point, but it was imminent and the sales advisor talked me into that saying that while it wasn't as quick as the Turbo, it was geared even more toward handling and I wouldn't have a 12 month wait if I ordered before the official announcement. 2 years on, I still love driving it and i've surprised more than one SUV hater with it. The S is quite a good car, but I would suggest driving a GTS if you're after handling, the Turbo if you want the power and a Turbo Performance Pack if you want it all! Not sure if you're after new or not, but I understand that there are no more allocations for the GTS as the 2019 model is coming which is a mild update.
I was worried about that too and having not being able to drive one before ordering, I ordered the air suspension and think it helps a lot, even though it's permanently set on low.
You are correct, however the main requirement of any company is to make a profit and stay in business. These SUVs allow them to do all the other things they have and want to do.
Selling cheap crack makes a lot of people happy also... is it a good thing?????? Mind you, we Ferrari folk probably shouldn't get too righteous since we're probably 'only a moment away'...
Your voicemail message is so long my battery died !! Does Telstra know you're listing everyone's phone number and email address ??
