Certainly up the pointy end of 930 prices. At that price I would have expect the originality police to get some basic stuff right. Perhaps the owner customised it to their taste, if not:

The leather is incorrect in colour and texture, and the car would have been delivered with a black or brown dash in either vinyl or leather. The carpet is the incorrect weave and lacks the leather edging in leather below the door pockets. I'm not sure about the tartan, I don't think that weave was offered for the 1979 model year. I will check.

The luggage is fake, and has been made up when the car was re-trimmed. The correct luggage is made by Seeger and looks like this:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/373192902119

It has the wrong tyres, reproduction rims and the tyre valve stand offs are missing. The spare is from a later car. Utilux hose clamps are a worry in the engine bay.

All the above is so easy to get right and unfortunately 1970s Porsche experts are very uncommon. I blame craft beer and Magnus Walker.

Quite why a 137,000km 930 needs "restoring" is odd, mine with 77,000 kms looks almost identical in condition to my friends 290,000 km example with the exception of some wear on his drivers seat squab. Each to their own.

These are worth a look and will increase your originality understanding. They are reasonably priced too:

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/385543637676

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/165879425864

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/185616332886

(Excellence was Expected has been reprinted a few times, and is much updated, however it's very expensive and a waste if you're not into the modern cars)

    Specifically 930:

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/265507935394

The high water mark for the 930 3.0L is this:

    https://parabolicapress.com/products/porsche-turbo-3-0-book?variant=33250192076

    An incredible book.

There are plenty of pretty picture Porsche books, however your understanding of the marque is beyond that, I wouldn't bother with them.

It would be 1971. Pretty sure he didn't run it in '72. Went back to Hamilton that year to be sold on.
