Not black, but it's the only auto they ever built.

OK well it may have been black prior to S's ownership.
There was one for sale in south western Victoria about 15+ years ago....it could have been modded I guess.

    Edit.
It was either late '06 early '07.
The sale of my servo was underway and I was doing 'The List'!

I tried very hard to buy one once.

Was told by an ex owner that they weren’t that good, but if you ever watched “Torque” you wanted one!

The front suspension was taken from a 6 cylinder Torana which in turn started life as a Vauxhall Viva. Not a good recipe for handling. Also weak brakes.

They were quick though, ran 13 second quarters bone stock.

I'd love to see you in in Bowell Nagari Simon.

When you said they seldom come up for sale, I seemed to recall a few over the years.

You know the Healey factory had one in 2017?

And this mob Australian Muscle Cars had the metallic red one for $59K?

If you really want one, call up the Healey factory and AMC and see if they will assist with getting in touch with the respective owners once you are cashed up.

The wheels on the Nagari look awesome - remind me of the Campagnolo's on a Miura

Didn't they have a backbone chassis a-la - Lotus Elan style - or at least I know the Mk7 had a backbone chassis

That's my recollection too, but nowhere near as stiff as a Lotus. The original kit car was designed for the Holden 6 (Nagaris were not sold as kits) which is 30% lighter than a Ford 302 V8.

I remember seeing them around Perth in the early 70's, they were so exotic and so fast.

Interesting car, my mate Ernie had a 1976 Targa also, but his car had the Sportomatic transmission in it.

He was the 2nd owner, all original, Aussie delivered matching number car but with more kms than this one from memory.

    Wonder what it’s worth now?

When I was replacing the cracked air box in it many years ago, they were listed on Car Sales for $11k give or take a few bucks.

Pretty cool car for the money back then, dunno about paying $90k for one now lol

Should have purchased them all for $11k each and re-sold 10 years later for $90k each lol
