You know things are heading in the wrong direction when even a 997 begins to appear small. Image Unavailable, Please Login
This would be a good GG car for Simon, a 928 Club Sport. They're hard to find, Porsche only built 19. https://www.classic-trader.com/au/cars/listing/porsche/928/928-s4/1988/361660?utm_source=Weekly&utm_medium=E-Mail&utm_campaign=Newsletter
Yeah so many experts out there who will tell you that they are fragile. Mine's been bullet proof. The amount of people who ask me about about those "common" valve guide issues.... I had mine serviced today and I asked the mechanic how many 355's he's seen with valve guide issues.. In 20 years he said he's had to fix 1. And look at yours without any CEL's or slowdown lights... Still the same 10 years later?
Frankly those so-called experts are full of **** and more full of their own prejudices than anything. They will happily forgive the most ridiculous faults on the OHOSs they like while banging on about 348/355/360s etc. When you find a real expert (like I eventually did) the 355 is a wonderful and no more stressful car to own than any other 90s Italian supercar, as well as being utterly beautiful, sounding extraordinary, and having performance and handling to match.
Made in England. With a reliable Japanese drivetrain. A car which is in my view the closest thing I’ve seen to a modern 355 from any manufacturer, and is superior in every possible way except perhaps sound. In the end it was a simple equation for a non BTC such as myself. Keep the 355 that I enjoyed for 11 years, or sell it for 3x what I paid, buy a new Emira and use the rest to put a deposit down on a beach house… Absolute no brainer, and frankly I’m surprised that other non-BTCs don’t do similar.
Should never have sold mine.. It's the only car I ever regret selling. Steered and handled like nothing else I've ever driven before or since.
