My uncle, want to give me a big present for my 18th. We are thinking about Porsche Driving Experience... He is on his third Porsche, so he is no stranger to p-cars :) Has anyone taken this course? or would recommend it? I am also looking into what BMW and Mercedes-Benz AMG has to ofer in this respect.
    Any comments accepted. thx.

BMWCCA has good training but you have to bring your own car. I imagine you have to bring your own Porsche for the Porsche club too.

I would look into the Skip Barber Racing School's 3 day class

Both the BMW course and the Porsche course, they supply the cars.
I will look into the Skip Barber Racing School's... thanks.

I highly recommend the Porsche Driving Experience.

But it depends what you want. Do you want to be a better driver? If so, do PDE. Do you want to race? Go to racing school.

I would not go near a Mercedes-based course--modern M-Bs do not allow you to fully disengage all of their stabilty programs. It's like oversteer is the enemy...

I just want to be a better driver, not racing. But I havent really driven a high performance car yet, so going into PDE is intimidating for me. I drive my dads '96 Saab 9000 Aero (230hp, 250 l.b t) witch is a blast to drive (for me). I've driven the Cayenne S a few times, but that doesnt count...

So far I have taken both of my first two daughters to the "Audi Driving Experience". I think it taught these teens a great deal. Recommended.
