I know we are Ferrari but, any comments or tributes we want to talk about concerning the recent tragedy and the car that was involved?

Not really people wreck cars everyday. And some people are prone to wrecking cars.

And some cars are prone to be wrecked. Be careful on the street, if you can hear the tires you're going too fast - if a tire deflates or you hit a slippery patch or bump, you have zero margin and you will likely hit something, and it may be harder than the car. Save that for the track where they have ample run off and soft barriers - not to mention a lack of surprises on the surface and surroundings.

I unfortunately learned that the hard way in a 911 - went tires squeeling around a turn and hit a nice dip I didn't know was there and the car exited the road quickly rear end first. I'm lucky what I (and the passenger) hit was softer than the car. Car wasn't so lucky.

Seems a lot of people learn that lesson in a 911 :)

If anything, I would think this accident can drive Bobs points home even harder - the driver was a fairly accomplished amatuer racer. If someone who has spent ample time learning about car control can screw up, you'd better believe you can, too. Save it for the track.

As for the CGT, it is getting quite a reputation. Of course the fact remains - don't drive it like a jackass on the street and you probably won't have any issues. It's simply not a car most of us truly have any business driving aggressively...but I don't think it's any more dangerous than a Viper or, for most people, the 930.

The CGT has always had a reputation for being tough to handle. I'm sure a modified one may have only exacerbated it. Turbo 911's (930s and 911 GT2s) share a similar notorious reputation. There's a reason they carry the moniker "Widowmaker". The only reason it's a hot topic now is because of the tragic loss of a Hollywood star, who coincidentally made movies about driving fast. That said, I think blaming the car is idiotic, as some in the press seem intent on doing. And saying the guy was a race driver doesn't mean a thing IMHO. The street carries far too many variables versus a more controlled environment like a track.

Similar tragic events have happened with the Enzo. It all comes down to a driver being responsible.
