I noticed that too. There's no way that was the 7:15 lap. Playing Gran Turismo 4 has taught me the track layout, and the video most certainly did not include the last long straight.

Aside from that, it was amazing!

This may sound like a stupid question. You be the judge. But how did those people on the track know almost immediately someone was behind them. Was the car that loud they heard it, do they check their rear view every 5 seconds, did he honk? If i'm the track and going for a good lap, i'm really not going to pay much attention to what is behind me unless i'm made aware of it.

Some one said that all street car lap times are done from the starting to the ending point that is what marks a lap on a public day. Arent most manufacturers now just renting out the Nurburgring for a small amount of time, meaning they have the ability to do the full lap?

I think the stock c6 Z06 Vette holds the true production car record. If the GT2 is modified but legal what is that? Lets just make a C6R ( the Z06 racecar not street legal) from a street legal C6 Z06 and thus streetlegal and modified like the porsche and see how long Porsche keeps the record. I don't by the Radical either. They are really very thinly disguised race cars. To me the GT2 deal is an empty record.

agree with you , to a certain extent.

when they say 'road legal' car , it can mean anything.

it would be more fun if they kept a record of stock (production) cars
for the 'Ring. But the problem is that if they did that and confined
the 'records' to such cars , guess what cars would come out on top ?

nonetheless , you still have to admire the sheer driving ability and
balls of that pilot. It takes a certain amount of no-fear attitude to
attack the 'Ring at full tilt when you know there would be traffic.

    cheers.

Amazing car and street legal but certainly not comfortably streetable. They spent a lot of time reworking airflow, both for additional brake cooling and intercooler flow. Back and side windows are Makrolon(-40lbs).
Reworked brakes, ,GT2R racing gearbox with strengthened driveshafts with mod. pressure plate and clutch. Engine has reworked turbos, revised cylinder heads wit tit. rods, special sports cats and revised engine mangt.

All this and much more from the company at $240k euros if you want one.
