My vote: Exotic, yes, Supercar, no. less than 300 units, has bright colored wheels (find me a normal car that comes with orange wheels from the factory!), and, everywhere except the USA, comes with a factory roll cage. And just look at the performance numbers.......
as exotic as a racecar can be...a bit like the homologation specials of the good old days. not a supercar as each manufacturer only gets one supercar in the line up. a hot car to be sure however!!
Porsches aren't "exotics" in my opinion (and I owned one, and wouldn't mind having a vintage one next). The CGT makes a good case, and I could be convinced, because you just never see one and it's a rare shape and unique engine for Porsche. However, Porsche is a huge company compared to Ferrari, Lambo, Lotus, Aston Martin and the other 'workshop in a small village' marques, and unless you know what you're looking at a GT3 looks like another 911 with stickers and a spoiler (yes, I know it's more than that). I think the old 993 Twin Turbo S was about this rare. Is it exotic? The base Twin Turbo isn't. It's hard to draw a line with all the 911s. An F40 or Diablo, on the other hand, is a startling car. Even Prius drivers know that those cars are extraordinary. You don't have to wonder whether it's the 'slow F40', the 'base F40' or the 'F40 sport edition', etc., and it never came with a body-length decal to clarify what it is. Still, if you want the ultimate 911 this year, the GT3 RS is it, or maybe the GT2 edges it out. It might have been even better if they had started with the Cayman chassis, but I'd guess the Marketing Dept said nein! Not sure what the intent of the original post was, honestly. Buy the car for what it is.
