550 spyder...chances are that it is a replica but there is a reference to the greenwich concourse so it could be real. greenwich is a bit of a wealthy lil spot...lol...understatement of the year!
I saw a 550 Beck spyder about 2 years ago at a gathering at the local Porsche deal...COOL CAR! The one I looked at was said to be VERY true to the original, but I have never been up close and personal enough w/ a 550...only seen a few real ones at the Porsche Museum and Historics in CA back in '00 and '98 respectively. I had a replica made by Vintage Spyders a few years back. Unless you look at the motor and get really close, it can be hard to tell the difference in a pic. Some replica owners really go out of there way to make it look authentic. They are fun little cars. Image Unavailable, Please Login
replica....dead giveaway....real 550's had a nearly flat top on the cowl....the fiberglas replica guys put a 356 "hump" so a speedster windshield will fit....nice job tho. dbw-ex owner 550rs-0048
