    PORSCHE MISSION X CONCEPT
Porsche debuted its all-electric concept car it calls a “conceptual reinterpretation” of what the public thinks of when they think hypercar. Like the Porsche 918 Spyder, it’s a low slung coupe with bulging fenders all around, but more aggressive than the Spyder, which still has more feminine curves

Porsche is not yet saying it’s been green lighted for production, but if it is it will have a 900-volt system which would allow it to charge twice as fast as the Taycan Turbo S.

The power-to-weight ratio is roughly one hp per 2.2lbs,

Porsche knows a good lap time on the Nürburgring Nordschleife would sell the idea but now the top speed lap time is owned by the Mercedes-AMG One.

    DESIGN COMMENTS

FRONT From the front ¾ it departs from most sport cars with a vertical
motif for the headlights and turn signals. Ironically in the US the vertical headlights motif has been "owned" by Cadillac for some time.
The doors sweep forward and up dramatically like some Ferraris Lamborghinis and McLarens. To some buyers upward swinging doors are the soul of hypercar. Personally I would rather have a targa as less confining. Those little toll windows re claustrophobia inducing.
I presume the small windows-within-the-windows retract.

SIDE It' go a strong resemblance of rear cutline to some current Ferraris. It is close in size to that of the 918 Spyder. Supposedly for aero, it’s got 20-inch wheels in front, and 21-inch ones in back. The decision to place the battery bank behind the seats, is similar to traditional mid-engine car design.

REAR Blade thin wall to wall taillamps. here's a lot of lumps in the back, maybe race car inspired, but not as smooth surfaced as a 918 spyder and no reason for all that sculpturing if there are no exhausts or rear air vents. The built in "bridge" rear spoiler joining the rear fenders has been done before but I'd like to her if i can be adjusted to angle or pitch. The “PORSCHE” badge and red LED strips jut out from the car's surface, giving it a 3D effect some will find cornball, a sort of hey-look-at-me that is out of character for Porsche.

INTERIOR Porsche seems determined to get the no-top-no-bottom yoke steering wheel accepted. The remainder of the interior is more retro '80s sports car inspired. In keeping with the "what's your lap time" image ,a press picture shows a stopwatch module.

IN SUM Nothing about the car has a "this design could be forever" feeling as does the 911, indicating a lack of imagination by Porsche. Still, it is only a concept, and the next generation of it could see something added that gives Porsche a platform to build something on that could carry on unchanged to the year 2030.

    What say you?

meh. styling lets it down compared to more dynamic 918 spyder. and ev is not going to advance game beyond what rimac has on offer. maybe if they can get the weight down but i dont see that happening without big breakthrough in battery tech. still long time away for that
