Not a bad trade, then. The silver and blue is just such a rare and great color combo., but I'm sure a lot of fun was had with her. :)

I agree. That RSR is NICE! Fun stuff! I have a friend that built up a Carrera RS as a track/race car, but he never got it fully sorted and then sold it. Would have been a lot of fun for him, but it just took more money and time than he had to put into it. If you drove your 1000 miles home, then it is READY TO GO obviously! Very nice!

The car is a '71T with lots of great stuff and weighs under 2300 lbs:
Steel flares with glass bumpers. The ducktail is a glass tail that has been mated to the original steel lid
    3.2l from a wrecked '89 and a rebuilt 915 with a Wevo shifter
Custom built racing headers(jet hot coated) with Supertrapp exhaust that can be baffled
    Wheels are custom built 17" x 9" & 11" 3 piece Fuchs
Factory GT3 seats with RS carpet and door panels
Suspension and brakes are from a 930 with some trick racing bits to dial it in
The owner had the car built over a few years by some top quality guys in Florida. He took possession of the car last summer but was told by his doctor to sell it after developing a medical condition.

I've already posted this in the daily random pictures thread and thought it would be suitable here as well. I tried taking a photo shoot today, but cut it short due to rain.

Some strange weather we are having here in TX the last couple of week. Always liked the 924S! Faster than the 944 due to better aero and finally a REAL Porsche as they say. That said, I liked the first ones too and I even like the 914's! I am just a car guy at heart!

Was that 956 for sale? Appears to be the winner in '83 iirc that didn't sell at auction for $2 million not too long ago.

Yes indeed, the 924S is a REAL Porsche. It has been a great car thus far. Recently getting it has sparked my interest of learning more about Porsches from a similar era. I can tell that you really like the 928's. Your collection looks outstanding! I'm sure that must bring a smile to you face every time you walk in.:) Those 928’s must be loads of fun!

Thanks Tyler! Indeed they do put a smile on my face every time I go out into the garage! Just love'em! When you are ready to expand, you need to get you an '87/'88 928S4 to go w/ your 924S! You will LOVE IT! Use the 924 for fun track days and the 928 for long cruises!

    Best,
    James

YEA! Another crazy person bringing a 928 back to life! I LOVE IT! I am working on my '84 S to make it as nice inside and mechanically as it is on the outside. Not rushing on it, but it will be nice when all said and done.

Best of luck w/ the project!

    Thanks James.

So far I have replaced all the rubber pipes in the engine bay, put in a new wiring loom, replaced all the injectors, rebuilt the driver's seat frame, replaced some exterior trim, rebuilt the armrest, fixed the power steering, rebuilt one of the brake calipers and remounted the front bumper. Currently having the auto gearbox done. I've had this car a long time, since I was in my early 20's. It's spent many years off the road, but I'm looking forward to getting it back in action...Hopefully this summer.

    What's happening with yours?

What would Jeremy Clarkson say? He would probably say that the VW is in good company with its fellow VW brethren.. :D
