Sorry if it's a repost. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20100427/india_nm/india480361 IMO the article makes it seem worse than it actually is.
That is better than I expected. And replacing seat belt tensioners isn't huge as far as recalls go (Ferrari has had far worse.)
So 11,300 owners of the initial batch of cars have to take their cars in and have the possibly faulty seat belt tensioners replaced at Porsche's expense. Big deal! Most every new car has it's faults. It sounds to me like Porsche noticed this one early on and is doing their best to correct the possible issue. If this is something serious enough to dent a companies reputation, or make one not want to purchase the car who otherwise would, than cry me a river.
I saw two more in different colors in LA just the other day. I'm sure they are selling plenty of them here. The design still has not grown on me and it's a much bigger car than it looks in the photos. I'm trying to figure out which I like less... the front or the rear. But, this recall is no big deal. It's hardly newsworthy.
I've owned a good number of cars and I really could not me more pleased than I am with my P4S. I have not had as single issue, malfunction, squeak or rattle. And this was an early delivery, first generation auto (took delivery in mid-January). I'd buy it all over again tomorrow and the only change I'd make would be to get the sport exhaust.
Yes, lots of people have no taste. A lot of people also purchased Pontiac Aztecs, Isuzu VehiCross', and Ford Edsels.
