I called Porsche Road Side Assistance requesting a Flat bed and they did not show up. I was left stranded in Brooklyn 90 degree. On top of that they charge my credit card twice! They insincerely apologized and would credit my account in 7 to 10 days!

    They suck!

LOL sorry to hear about your experience.

If you are really steamed...write porsche an email... they will probably send you a whopping key chain...

and also, just so you know, roadside assistance for manufactures (all of them whether its BMW BENZ AUDI ETC...) just use "contracted" towing companies.

My buddy called Porsche Roadside Assistance to tow his 996 TT, thinking they would at least contract to someone with a clue. The guy who showed up was completely unprepared to tow the car. No ramps (we found some scraps of wood) and no tire hold-downs. He was pissed and called them back to give them an earful. Of course, I'm sure it just went to a generic call-center and "Porsche" popped up on the computer screen...

Maybe it's just random luck but I've used USAA roadside with my insurance a few times and had great experiences. Once towing a Lotus Esprit, the driver called me first to make sure he had what he needed to get the car on his flatbed. On two occaisions, they have towed me pretty far for no extra charge (35 and 75 miles IIRC). Quite a deal for an extra $6/yr per car.
