I heard decades ago the Porsche Tapiro designed by Ital
Design on a 914/6 chassis was forced to be
"given" to the President of Mexico after an auto show there.
But then I read just a month or so ago some businessman in another country owned it but was blown up in it when he had a tiff with his workers and they put a bomb in it. I saw a picture of Giorgetto and Fabrizio looking at it as it was up in the air on a fork lift, and it looked pretty burned out. I was wondering if the Mexican part is true and how the Giugiaro's recovered the car...
it looks pretty far gone to be but then I guess it cost about $250,000 to hand make a body.
Here's a storya bout it with another picture, the one I saw with the Giugiaro's , it was all black with soot. Anyhow I can see them getting it restored now that they sold Ital Design to VW and thus work for VW and VW has lots of money...
