"Preuninger also noted that Rohrl managed a 7:45 lap time under the same conditions with a borrowed Ferrari 430 Scuderia."

Props to Porsche if they've managed to make the GT3 as fast as (or even faster than) the Scuderia. Will have to await some tests to see if that is so. As it stands, in their hands, the 997 Turbo is 7 seconds faster than the Scuderia. Lapping during traffic really clouds the issue.

A stock GTR weighing 3800lbs with 480hp lapping as quick as an Enzo, Zonda, ZR1 and ACR is pretty funny and unbelievable. The GT3 on the other hand is far lighter and close in power to the GTR.

It all depends on the day, and a same day comparison will give a much better idea.

April 1st at a local Kart track I ran a 30.9 second lap, no one touched it for a long time, only one other sub 31sec run was done at the end of the month. That weekend, April 4th, in the same kart I couldn't do faster than a 31.5. Three days apart and 6 tenths different with same driver. That would come out to a 10 sec difference at the 'ring. It is very possible the GTR achieved the time it did close to stock, and although it may have a faster fastest time - that doesn't mean on any given day in a race its gonna be the faster car.

there are lots of comparison tests that explain how the car achieves fast lap times...

    Such as?

Please explain how a stock standard GTR was as fast as the ZR1 on the long straights but when driven independently was some 11mph slower than the GT2? When driven at the same time by the same driver on the same conditions, CH commented that the GTR didnt lack grip but simply lacked power.

How come it's never is the fastest car on track days among the cars that it "should" be faster than...

ive been on a circuit behind and in front of an R35 GTR in my 997 GT3.

There is nothing in it. GTR certainly on a reasonably tight circuit has nothing on a 7GT3.

i have the data from a vbox and even the longitudunal G is not that different
