Just what these cars need. Love the technology.

Curious, when did Mercedes do a DSG/sequential manual?

    Wrong.

It is a conventional torque-converter automatic.

Thought Audi was the old company using DSG so far.

The Bugatti Veyron has a DSG tranny, and so do a few VWs.

What happened to people wanting six speed manuals? This just makes me sad.

I didn't mean 7spd automanual from Merc I meant 7spd (in their new SUV for instance)

VW/.AUDI make the best DSG imo

Yes, but their 7-speed is still a conventional automatic. You can't compare a conventional auto with a DSG, even if they have the same amount of gears. They are 2 different trannies entirely.

Its interesting that Porsche is so late to the party with the DSG, as they had the PDK gearbox on the 956 cars in the 80's. Well at least you know when it comes out it will be very well sorted. It's interesting that I read in one of the magazines that Borg Warner is working on something similar. I would suspect the Corvette should have something like that soon.
