Audi will develop Volkswagen group's Porsche Cayenne, VW Touareg and Audi Q7 large SUVs in the future. VW bosses hope the change will end a conflict over development responsibilities between the Audi and Porsche brands that has been ongoing since VW group announced its plan to integrate Porsche as its 10th brand, according to the Financial Times Deutschland. VW has picked Porsche to develop the group's so-called "modular standard matrix" that will underpin the Porsche Panamera and future Bentleys. It will also be responsible for a sports car platform for front-mid- and rear-mid-engine cars for Porsche, Audi and Lamborghini.

Oh yeah, they're going to master all those brands and yet maintain each one's niche without overlapping one another. What's a brand anyway? Porsche/Audi/Lamborghini/VW? You drive one, you'll be driving the other. Just keep torquing that Lamborghini until you've squeezed all the Italian out of it and made it a full fledged German brand.

I thought the VW acquisition of Porsche fell apart? (sometime in the last month)

is it back on? or is this bad data?

anyway, I agree that Lambo has the most to lose here...all the Italian-ness will be gone soon.

    :(

They already have. The Gallardo is german in every conceivable way, it's only assembled in Italy.

I saw the new Murci replacement in LA and it is noticeably more German, particularly the interior...

Agreed... that's the reason why I can't fix my mind about the purchase of another Gallardo as my kids request... I'm still wondering a Countach QV to add to my collection !
