I actually found out something interesting today. I took my hood off to clean the underside, paint it, and install the new foam Spasso was kind enough to send me. I decided now would also be a good time to look at repairing the latch pins. They have grooves worn in them so I wanted to find out if they were aluminum or steel so I could try to get them welded up.

Surprise, they are steel and welded right to the framework so I started checking the rest of the hood. It appears that the area outside the framework is steel and only the section inside the square tubing frame is aluminium. Not sure how or why this would be but how else could you explain a magnet sticking to it?? Strange indeed!!

Well if a guy can get $37,000 for having an ad on his forehead for a couple months, might as well see what else people will pay for :)
