I know it's a long shot here, But I am trying to locate the audio wiring in my portofino. It is a non-Highfi model. I am specifically looking for the audio signal (speaker wires). Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Chris

Parts diagrams are scarce, but the NIT is located under the dash on the passenger side. There is no amplifier in a lo-fi car, so the speaker output wires will exit the back of the NIT via a large 52 pin connector. PM me if you need to know which wires go to which speakers.

Speaker wires are on the back of the NIT as SoftwareDrone said.
    pin A1 RR + blue/red
    pin A2 FR + Brown/black
    pin A3 FL+ Purple/black
    pin A4 RL + Red/Brown
    pin A5 RR - white/black
    pin A6 FR - blue/red
    pin A7 FL - red/green
pin A8 RL - black green
    pin D9 Sub + white
    pin D10 Center + white/black
    pin D 13 Sub - white/yellow
    pin D14 center - white/red

Make sure you disconnect the battery before playing with this connector.

The door woofers are double coil speakers with 2 separate channels attached
Right Door Woofer attached to (A6,A2) & (D13,D9)
    Left Door Woofer attached to (A7, A3) & (D10,D14)

So make sure if you swap speakers you are aware that 4 separate channels are going to the door Woofers

No that is for the Stereo unit. The Display is just a monitor for it.

The NIT is the brains of the Stereo. They are one in the same. Think of the NIT as a computer that generates the sound and the display is exactly that, just a display.

Perhaps you should tell us what it is you are trying to accomplish.

    Thread resurrection (!)

I'm interested in doing an Audio upgrade on my 2019 standard audio Portofino & came across this thread & noted the slightly odd wiring to the doors as described above.

So I'm now wondering what the NIT is doing in terms of signal output in respect of the Sub channel to the RH door and the Centre to the LH door as described above.

The centre would normally be a mid range speaker, so is the NIT just sending extra mid range to that door in addition to a full range output on the standard FL door channel; and then sending a Sub level signal to the RH door + its standard full range signal? Or something else?

I am looking at putting a DSP amp in the thing & if there are two runs of speaker cable into each door then that would be useful & allow the door speakers to run active without a separate crossover (i.e. let the DSP manage that).

Lastly, if the NIT is outputting signal on 6 channels then is there is anything to be gained by showing the two extra channels to the DSP at all if the other 4 are all full range signals anyway? They are just speaker outputs so I doubt it'd get upset if they are not connected.

Does anyone know anything about this stuff?
