As a long time Ferrari fan and as a kid growing up with posters all over my wall, I'm finally at a point where I can afford one. I'm leaning towards getting a Portofino (yet to drive one) but I'm wondering if there are any thoughts on whether I should go Ferrari certified or not. I have two options near where I live - both are roughly the same price (~200k USD for a 2019 model) with the non-CPO having more features. Are there any advantages to getting the certified?

I bought a red cali 90 MT it was exactly the car I was looking. Payed to much but Ferrari of Palm Beach went though the car fixed a few things and gave me kinda 2 of a year warranty the most I will have to pay for repairs is $1,800. I love the car and zero problems so far.

Service history may be available for discussion at a Ferrari dealer offering a certified car. They likely won't tell you the owner information but may share the dealer service details. The certification process is a form of pre-purchase inspection. The selling dealer benefits from doing this to reduce reputational issues and complications from unsuspected problems. A certified car may be eligible for factory warranty and extended service coverage. And the buyer has some PPI information. It is good to know specifically what was found in the certification process, what was corrected, and what was not inspected. For example, usually on a 5-year old car engine compression and leak-down is not done. As a buyer one may decide what level of PPI is desired, whether dealer or elsewhere. The buyer can always walk if the desired PPI is not allowed.

And non-certified cars may be brought up to certified status, discuss this with your dealer if you wish this considered for a particular car.

If you have the option to buy a Ferrari Certified Car, I would highly encourage you to take that option. The electronics in these cars can be temperamental and having the certified warranty can pay dividends if something fails or goes haywire.
