Anyone have some ideas on how to increase the decibels on my Portofino M without spending an arm and a leg ?

The only thing inexpensive-and a good starting point-would be an exhaust controller like my Capristo unit for about $650 a few years ago. My 2019 exhaust differs from yours, but I added Tubi mufflers ($3900) and a Kline x-pipe ($2600) for a sound that I love. I think that you have a GPF to deal with (and remove). Some owners like high-flow cats (200-cell or louder 100-cell). Forget about cheap when it comes to Ferrari.

Hi there. I have tried so many combinations on my non-M Portofino.

I tried capristo mufflers, Kline X-Pipies etc. in various permutations. Unfortunately none of those made a tangible difference for me. The price simply didn't justify the minimal improvements I got. Plus I had a lot of drone occurring.

Finally I got a decent result (for me anyway). I changed to Kline 100 cell cats - the only change that will give you a good increase in volume. Stock mufflers and stock H-pipe. I just added a Capristo controller so I'm not loud all the time. I have had this exhaust upgrade for just over three years and so far so good.

I think this is the best sound one may be able to get from a turbocharged V8 Portofino. But as they say - sound is highly subjective.

You have the added issue of the GPF (as does the Roma). But I know Kline and others have modified their sports cats to cater for this.

You can check out Novitec's YouTube channel. They have a modified Roma on there which should give you a good idea of what your Portofino M can sound like too. Both acts have the same exhaust setup.

Good luck and enjoy the car!

Thanks...I'm going to move ahead with the Capristo controller for a start. Can't remove the GPF...it'll void my factory warranty.

Fwiw , I did that on my F8s with the GPF and the sound change was not a whole lot better. It did throw off an occasional CEL but went away after leaving it closed for a bit. Please report back. Best , Kirk
This is one reason I didn’t trade my Porto for an M.

I never got the controller installed. My dealer said it would set off the check engine light, and since they opened the valves on my 360, F430, California, and 488, I had no reason to not believe their data was accurate.

Hi, any updates on how the controller install went for you? Thinking of the same - 100 cell cat and maybe the controller for my Portofino. Leaving everything else stock. Would be great to hear how you feel about it now. Thanks

Installed about a month ago, works flawlessly. Definitely an improvement- has a nice deep rumble when open, sound now matches velocity under hard acceleration, much louder "pop" with upshifts. I'm a boy racer now:), my girl just shakes her head and says " Ayy, Pablito".

Is this the only change you've done? Also the non-M Portofino doesnt have GPFs correct?

That is it and I think it's enough. I also believe only the Porto M has GPFs.
