Hi everyone looking for some opinions in this topic. Would you guys take delivery of 23 Portofino or wait till for Roma Spider? Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
If you can get an early allocation for a Roma Spider then yes I would take a Roma Spider. May the Horse be with you
I’ll be taking delivery of the 23 PM. I prefer the classic interior, with buttons and needle gauges. The two cars mark (i) the end of a long-standing design language and (ii) the start of a new one, so it’s challenging. But given the average age of the buyers I see, there should be continued interest in the classic language. Does the option exist to take delivery of the PM, then sell it back to the dealer when the Roma arrives, and pay sales tax on only the difference? Free-ish PM for a year (or two)? Will the unknown future market support that?…
I am ordering a Portofino M. I am anxious to see the Roma Spider, but don't like the center touchscreen or the haptic buttons. I decided on the Portofino M due to the classic styling and more traditional interior, but as Carbon Bits says, if I fall in love with the Roma Spider, I will look to trade up to Roma Spider and okay if I had to wait a year or two with the PM.
I'd prefer Roma spider but need to be realistic on timeframes... lf you have the chance to take delivery on a PM you can likely enjoy it for 18 months before you'd be able to get a RS. So (assuming you have access to a near term PM) I'd take delivery and if you love the roma, great... spec one and wait it out suffering daily in your beautiful Portofino
Really a hyperbolic question as the books are closed on the Portofino M. But perhaps the question comes down to: Hardtop or soft top? Digital or analog dash?
This is our thinking as well, classic interior without all the touch bs. It's one of the big reasons I pulled the trigger on the Porto M. Ours is painted according to the app...
Literally in same boat. Canceled order available to me on PM now. Or wait on RS, but I actually prefer the styling and non haptic interior of PM. So will probably go that way.
The ROMA exterior is exquisite, that is truth. But the interior with the Tesla-esqe display in the console and the digital dash is just too far afield from Ferrari for my taste. If this is the future of Ferrari, then I revel in the fact that I got a 2023 PM , the last in the line of Semi-Analog beauties.
I thought the Roma was one of the prettiest naturally shaped cars I have ever owed but the interface was just terrible! Awful! If they fix that its a winner because it drives so good.
Just took delivery of my Portofino M. I have zero regrets. I am not at all enamored with the Roma Spider.
I was hoping / worried the Roma Spider would make me replace our Portofino M in two years. After seeing the renderings, I'll have to wait for the the next model.
IMHO nothing beats a hardtop convertible. Moreover, I like the more classic look of the PMs taillights, etc. We’re talking Ferrari here, so how can you go wrong with any new model?
I prefer the new exterior styling of the Roma/296/et but I think the Roma interior and controls are a total disaster in this first generation implementation. The hard top folding roof was the swing vote for me, though. That fits my intended use of the car more than a soft top. I don't really see a wrong answer between them, though.
Do you have something else in the mean time? I'd take the PM if I already ordered it. If you're looking now, obviously RS is one of the few cars you can order. I actually like the looks - to me it's a Monza-style spider you can get your hands on and drive. I'd add that Capristo grille to the front.
I have a PM on a boat right now, and might order a Roma Spider once I see it in person and plan on trading in the PM. However, I really like having actual buttons and not a touch screen and controls on steering without a button to push. Most likely will just keep the PM unless I wanted to trade in for that SUV type thing and I could actually get an allocation.
PM has the analog dashboard with real buttons and dials, and classic exterior round tailights. Better car for that reason alone IMO. Downside is the hardtop taking up 70% of your trunk space
Now that I’ve gathered Ferrari is discontinuing the Portofino M, does anyone anticipate a proper successor, or is the Roma considered to be the PM’s replacement? Thank you in advance! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
That’s what I was afraid of. I appreciate your reply. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
