Is it me or the used Portofino prices are hovering not far from buying a new one, is there a shortage of new cars or something one should know?

Second hand prices may have strengthened over the last year (which is great) and so the gap between second hand and new basic list looks narrow but by the time you take into consideration all the "must have" extras, there is still a big gap. I wonder what the average spend on extras is? My final Portofino invoice was about £30,000 over basic list 3 years ago.

60k USD over MSRP as options as of now; have been adding options ever since I paid the deposit. Have still 10 months before allocation so who knows where I’ll end up.

I have an F8 on order and have been getting impatient so I started looking at used cars as a placeholder. Best deal I could find was 70K over sticker on a pretty base spec. Wasn't worth it to me. That said I just sold my 3 year old Ford Raptor for a 6K profit from what I paid. Ironically I was able to find a dealer that offered me invoice pricing on a 2022 that arrives in February. Point is you are in this market better financially being patient and ordering new cars and the demand for instant gratification is higher than ever right now....

Yes, shortage from the COVID shutdown delays and component delays. Plus the general inflation and cheap money right now. If I wasn't so attached emotionally to my F12 I could sell it now for a profit as [asking] prices are up 20% over last year.

I so badly wanted to order a Tributo but apparently Ferrari stopped taking orders on Oct 18, 2021; I was unwittingly late by 12 days. I have put a deposit for Portofino M but if there is someway to get an allocation for Tributo still, would love to learn how. I am dealing with the one and only Ferrari dealer in Atlanta and by their own admission they are not as big as dealerships in FL or CA. Don’t know if this has something to do with how much pull they’ll have with Ferrari in getting an allocation after the fact. This is my first experience buying a Ferrari so if my question(s) appears naive or ignorant, please excuse me. PS: Between Roma and Portofino M, I love the Portofino M more by a mile (Roma’s all digital cockpit felt like a Tesla and I loathe EV’s), but my heart is still with the Tributo.

As far as I understand the order books are closed. I played my order first of October when I heard the were closing. I was just being impatient which I why I started looking at used cars. Lol
