It definitely needs some base I’ve got the JBL in mine it sounds good at high volume but the low volume lacks base even tho it’s turned up to the max
Not sure where it’s going to fit there’s back seats in there

The enclosure fits in the "wormhole". That is, the access area right behind the seats but in front of the trunk. So it doesn't take up trunk space. Here's a picture of a similar enclosure in place (Roma Spider).

Very cool! Not sure I want/need to "out thump" the 10th Lamborghini Urus I find in downtown Miami on Saturday night, but it would be fun....

So it won’t fit if you have the load through access

The last thing my boxes do is "thump". These third order enclosures produce tight, crisp, clear, accurate, punchy bass. Now of course if you play a boomy rap song, you're going to get boomy rap bass. These enclosures are designed to accurately reproduce sound at the lower frequencies.

If you are meaning that it may not fit if you can't access the load through area from the front, the answer is it doesn't matter. The enclosure is moved into place (at the load through access area) by moving it into position from the trunk. The fact that you may or may not have access to the enclosure from the front is immaterial. At that frequency, it wouldn't matter if you had a wall of immovable solid steel in front of it. You're still going to get as much or as little bass as you desire.

Looks good . stupid question but how does it connect to the stereo system? Is it wired in or is it Bluetooth?
And what’s the cost . It looks really good . im guessing it’s Valero held in place ? Wouldn’t want to floor the gas and it goes flying around the boot

    All good questions.
There is a standard dual banana plug fixture on the bottom of the enclosure (similar to my California/Cali T/Roma subwoofer enclosures).
The mounting strategy is being worked on from another angle by professionals with much more exposure to this model than I have. Any decent car audio shop will be able to secure this enclosure correctly.

You don't need to thump. It adds another dimension to the sound. I tuned my system for jazz and it sounds amazing without overpowering base. It all depends on how you tune the system.

Mikes subwoofers fit so tightly and perfectly into the enclosure, simple Velcro is enough to secure it and also allow for removal incase you need the passthrough for skis, etc.

Didn't mean to malign your work with my "thump" comments:cool:. Very impressive sub/enclosure, love that the black/yellow will match my interior perfectly. Where should my car audio shop access the factory wiring to add it on? I have the factory SNDB high power audio system.

The amp on the Portofino is on the left side of the trunk.

No worries brother, I didn't take it the wrong way. This system can thump too if that's what you want. It mostly depends on the source (music). Jazz music typically has a soft bass drum, rock has a heavy bass drum, EDM typically has a very tight, punchy bass. Hip hop is specifically recorded to have a long, boomy bass drum. With the right enclosure and sufficient power, you can reproduce any of those.

Looks great! Does the base audio have an amp for this to connect into, and if it does, will it support this unit?

The base audio has no amplifier. The speakers are powered by low powered amplifier circuitry built into the NIT (radio brain), just like a factory radio in a Honda Civic (for example). The factory harness that plugs into the back of the NIT has wires that go directly to all of the speakers. I have a harness that acts as a small extension cord that separates all of the speaker wires so you can add an amplifier without cutting any of the factory wires. You can either add a multi-channel amp to provide more power to all of the speakers and the new subwoofer, or you can let the NIT keep powering the speakers and just add a small, dedicated amplifier to power just the subwoofer.
There is no way a lo-fi car could power a subwoofer. It doesn't even have enough power to properly amplify the stock speakers.
The hi-fi cars have an amplifier, but you cannot remove it. This is not a big deal as the hi-fi amps are high quality and high power and are perfect for powering either the stock speakers or upgraded speakers (as long as you don't ask it to power a subwoofer). In this case, you use my harness to add a small subwoofer amp.
