I thought it fell off the back of a car carrier and then got crushed!! Very cool car from the 90's show car circuit
The car is still with Chrysler and presently in storage for a couple of years. I always suspected this show car was the inspiration for the Intrepid and had this confirmed for me by the director of the Chrysler museum's collection. The greenhouse and some of the rear styling are the same though the engine was moved up front and this car is much shorter in height and more compact than the Intrepid. Very tight to climb into but quite comfortable with plenty of legroom and headroom once inside. Yes, it was damaged in a transporter rollover but was quickly restored at the time. It use to be on display in the Chrysler museum. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lamborghini Portofino was designed by Kevin Verduyn of the Chysler Pacifica studio in Carlsbad, California. It was constructed at Metalcarfters in Fountain Valley California.
Very nice - I've always liked this car for some bizarre reason. Anyone remember (doubt it'd be at the museum, but who knows) the Dodge '89 Decepzione Daytona? A Dodge Daytona with a Lamborghini Jalpa motor in it.
Wow, I had never heard of this before! Just did some hunting and found this write-up on it: http://www.front-runners.net/files/magarticles/89decepzione.pdf Mike
It was listed as one of the most influential cars of recent time due to the cab forward design. About a paragraph long. I'll see if I can scan it tonight at home.
