It seems that the mayor of Rio de Janiero is interested in the track there filling the vacant spot left by Spa. I would guess that the link below is the track in question.

Nothing can "fill the gap" for Spa!

Rio had F1 before and it was a rather dull track. Besides there is Interlagos, so what's the point?

FIA took Spa off the calendar and that's that: 18 instead of 19 races and a good chance it'll be back in 2007.

Is Brno too small for F1 cars? I always though it had a similar feel to Spa.

I think Brno lacks all the F1 required paddock and all the grandstands.

Aside from lacking an "a", "e", "o", "u" or "i" in the name...:)

I guess it shouldn't buy another "o" or it gets a XXX rating.

they definitely need to buy another vowel or something, haha. Great track with some nice turns and elevation changes. Awesome venue for MotoGP, but it could be a little short and tight for F1.

My only hope is just as hopeless as keeping it at Spa... bring it back to the Glen.

Get rid of Indy, and move that race out to the west coast (Laguna). Make F1 more accessible to us right and left coasters.

I don't think this is going to happen especially with what happened last year at the infamous Indianapolis F1, but there have been serious talks over the last couple of years by Bernie E., FIA, and with Penske, Wynn and group of bringing F1 back to Las Vegas.

Personally I really don't see it happening because there is not a track set out and land is sparse now in Vegas, but Vegas is a hot spot, F1 raced in Vegas in the past and F1 really wants a larger share of the US market. So we will see.

IMHO no circuit is as good as SPA...

Having said that, what about Estoril?
